I paid $600.
I wanted a standard Les Paul Model.
First of all, the guitar looks stunning!
The heritage cherry finish is worth the extra $40 that I paid for it.
Actually, I wanted the ebony finish because it was cheaper. They were out of stock.
On to the sound.
It has the authentic Les Paul sound:
Beefy, textured, and "fat."
Volumes can be spoken about the tone.
But I'll be succint. Les Pauls are some of the best sounding guitars on the market.
SO far so good!
I'm very impressed with the construction.
It's brand new, so it is in mint condition.
If you're in the market for a Les Paul, then you should check out this one!
You'll save some money over a Gibson.
Heck, it is Gibson.
Anonymous rated this unit on 2004-11-22. $550.00 (US)brand new. I was waiting for my friend to show up at the music store so I decided to jam for a while. I picked up this beautiful Epi LP and coundn't put it back down. I came back the next week with the money and bought it. It's the only LP I ever liked--never liked a Gibson LP before. This one just made me feel like we belonged together. I love the tone I get with it through my Peavey Renown 400 amp. Everyone else loves it too. Who gives a shit what color the tuning keys are? Mine stays in tune just fine anyway.
It feels absolutely awesome--the neck and the right hand position. Many folks complain of the weight of a LP--Gibson or Epi--but as for me, it's not TERRIBLY heavy, and besides, I like to know and feel it when I strap it on. If it's too heavy, start working out so you can handle it.
The tone is absolutely fabulous--clean or distorted. If others don't like theirs, they should spend time adjusting their amp knobs one afternoon.
Hmm...hard to imagine. I guess I hate that it takes such a backseat to the Gibson LP that so much confidence is taken from the Epi LP. Sure, it's a little cheaper, but that just means you get more than your money's worth!
Durable, top of the line. Anything I move or adjust on the guitar responds properly and effiecently. My strings are close for fast action and I have no fret buzz. Wouldn't trade for any other ax.
It's all preference. Don't assume that just becuase the Epi LP wasn't liked by another guy that you won't like it either. I will say that I know what I'm doing guitar-wise and if it can be great for me, it stands a chance of being good for you too. Definitely give it a shot. Harold, Jr. rated this unit on 2004-08-07.
